Alizon seeks constantly to enlighten and rescue the beleaguered inhabitants of Welltower. When one of the inhabitants chooses to leave, they are taken to an Alizon rehabilitation center where they are cured of any health issues and taught the ways of the outside.
They wear dark glasses and thick clothing for a time because they are unaccustomed to the sunlight and coldness. They struggle to get used to open spaces.
Bethi is the rehabilitation worker who helps Selda and Kaehl.
